When I first moved to Westminster during the mid-nineties, it was definitely worth the price for a 500 square foot studio on the sixth floor - 504/month plus electric. Not too noisy, except for passing trains. When I moved there a second time, from 2002-04, I lived in an alcove studio on the second floor near the trash chute and above the garage with industrial size garage door. Had a problem with mice which could not be corrected due to apartment location and the garage door would be extremely loud, shaking the whole apartment, esp. at 5 or 6 in the morning; also heard the people throwing away their trash in the compactor - finally moved to a larger studio in the front for 40/month more - no transfer fees at least - facing the front. Burn holes in carpet, a/c not working, leaking fluid - MUSHROOMS growing underneat a/c; refrigerator needed replacing, did not keep items cold enough. Outrageous electric bills for studio during summer and winter months due to a/c and heat. Then, they wanted to charge us for water and sewer! (Moved out before that took place). Loud neighbors next door, loud music day and night - rented to college people. Two small windows facing front - although apartment was large, it felt claustrophobic, especially with the windows closed during winter, and loud music next door, enough to make walls and room vibrate, in supposedly a sound-proof building. Neighbors kept to themselves, seemed afraid to talk to you - scurried back into their apartments like frightened rabbits. Thankfully, all security deposits were returned. Long walk to store, until Trader Joe's was put in -then you had to walk through a parking lot in the back of Trader Joe's to get there. My apartment in BROOKLYN, NY is less noisy now than the one I had in Westminster Arch. Nice size apartments, but be careful who your neighbors are.
