Good value & convenient location

This is a good value at a good location. If you just want a nice place to live with friendly people, this is it. I'll first address the comments by the person below who never even lived here! I mentioned it to a couple neighbors, and we think he/she applied to live here but was denied, and so was feeling a little vengeful!
It's not as lively as other parts of the city, and so one does need to be more careful, but this is not a scary location as that other person claims. That other writer could only imagine who comes out at night' I happen to know, as I'm on neighborhood town watch. It's a big city, so one needs to be aware of your surroundings, but it's safe. The area by the river was even recently cleaned up and made safer.
I agree that the outside of the building isn't attractive, but it's the inside of my apartment that matters to me. The windows measure 44" (width) by 52" (height). Not too small for me. The author does bring up a good point in questioning the noise level. This was a MAJOR concern of mine before moving in, as I'm a light sleeper, and I face the SEPTA trains. However, since the trains are electric, it's not a big deal. I keep my windows open in the summer, and I don't recall them waking me up. Perhaps there's more noise on the lower floors'
There are two elevators, laundry facilities (2 washers & 2 dryers) on each floor, and a couple of vending machines in the lobby. Trader Joe's is 2 blocks away, Whole Foods market is close, as is plenty of shopping. The trains & buses are a block or two away. The Schuylkill River bike path seems almost at the doorstep. The art museum (and other museums) City Hall, tons of restaurants & fun spots, etc., are a short walk. There's even a private little courtyard outside that I'll sit down in from time to time.
In addition to paying electric (which includes stove, heating & a/c, etc.), they started charging us water/sewer recently. However, that's just around $20-22, so it's no big deal (better than raising the rent by a lot). Mike (office) always says hello and is very friendly. John (maintenance) is very efficient and is nice as well. When I have maintenance requests, I'll slip a note under the office door in the morning and it would usually be done when I returned from work that evening.
I'm friendly with 3 of my 6 closest neighbors, and those in the other 3 will exhange a hello, plus I know a few on other floors.
This is a great example of having a place that's not fancy, but does everything right.
