Westminister Arch Apartments

Nice and Cozy From: chefkey Date posted: 11/27/2005 Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2004   I lived at Westminster from June 1999 to June 2004. The room was always quiet and comfortable. I know that I lived against the wall joining the two buildings that make the whole complex. This may have kept me from hearing one neighbor but I never heard anything above or below because of a 12 foot floor size with a four foot drop ceiling. I know that my other neighbor to the right could hear my music which would be one of two problems I know of. I checked in his room with the music playing and I could hear a bass rumble but I am a musician and was using Amplifier Speakers meant for performance. I moved the speakers to the other side and his problem stopped. The lobby was always clean and inviting and the laundry room was clean and easy. I rarely had to wait and it was very close to my room. In the winter the room was very warm and cozy with the heater but it was very cold when I would enter and would have to leave my coat on for 20 minutes until the heater kicked in. Nonetheless, once warm the place was very comfortable. The only other problem I would mention was the Freight train that passes along the river to the west. The engine is very loud and would pass in the middle of the night sometimes waking me. After a while though I grew used to the few nuisances that all places have and was very happy there. The area felt safe and was close to many nice things. There is a grocery store on JFK about 5 blocks from the apartment and with a a little stamina this was no problem. I guess to sum up my comments I would say: Don't live here if you can't handle a little adversity but if you have good tolerance for minor nuisances you will love your stay at Westminster. I know I did.
