Before I gave notice to move I was told to look at this website before signing a lease somewhere else. I figured I would add my review of Independence Crossing while I was reading other reviews.
This new company called Westover bought Independence a few months ago. They did amazing things with the outside like add 100 freakin trees that we didn't need, put up stupid boulders so you can back your car into them. The idiots don't realize you can't see them in the snow.
Oh and of course they took down the signs that were in perfect condition and put up new ones. Just a way to spend a few extra hundred bucks. They painted the laundry rooms, but didn't do anything important like buy new washers or find a way to keep the rain from flooding the laundry rooms.
I was taken back by all of this but thought, hey maybe they will at least upgrade the apartments inside.
Gee, I guess I was wrong. My cabinets are falling off the wall in the kitchen and my neigbors toilet is constantly being flushed into my bathroom. It's always nice to come home to a wet hallway carpet! At least the girls in the office were friendly and tried to help me get my maintenance repairs taken care of. Sadley they replaced Val with some nasty old ----- who hates everyone. I came into the office and introduced myself figuring I'd try to be nice. She asked where I was from. When I told her what state I was born in, she asked what part. She looked at me and said there is no town named that in that state. I guess I'm a liar. Nice to meet you. To my dismay my rent was increased by $34. I went in to let Regina know I would be leaving, unfortunatley the stupid company got rid of her too and replaced her with some girl who knows nothing about the property. When I asked her what I had to do to give notice she looked at the nasty old ----- for help. Nasty old ----- told me I would be breaking my lease if I was to leave any sooner than October 31st. I told her that's when I wanted to leave so I wouldn't be breaking my lease. I asked her if she could look to see when my lease was up. She said she was really busy and I'd have to come back. This company really made a huge mistake. They lost my $820 a month, plus two of my friends who will be leaving at the end of their leases as well.
