We have lived in this apartment for over 5 years and cannot wait to get out. We wouldn't have been here this long except for extenuating circumstances. After years of complaining about the ceilings looking like they were about to fall, one finally did "without warning" according to the management. If you read some of the other reviews you will see that we weren't the only ones. The one that fell was the master bedroom. Not a piece...but the WHOLE THING. I thank God that no one was home when it happened. The maintenance is so bad that after they "fixed" the ceiling we recently had another hole open up in our hallway. We have learned that they can't be trusted to fix things well the first time, so we had the borough code enforcement come in before they did any repairs. They will be re-doing the repairs to our hallway thanks to his report. A few times a year we find ourselves without heat, which we have learned to live with. Every time the wind blows you feel a breeze due to the windows not being sealed very well. The patchwork maintenance that has been done on these buildings is finally catching up with them. If safety is an issue, come by after dark before deciding to rent here. If all the lights are on in the parking lots and on the front of the building, don't expect that to happen all the time. The "construction" category explains it all: "Falling apart (litterally). Shoddy materials and workmanship." One last thing...GET IT IN WRITING. Especially if it is a major issue. The management's story tends to change from one day to the next.
