Perspective from an "experienced" tenant

- Grab an apartment guide or visit rent.com before signing a lease. There will be a coupon to take $50-100 off your first year's lease. They tend to increase the lease by $25/year.
- They say only one cat is allowed (and they collect a one time fee for this), but some tenants have as many as four cats (and a few have outdoor cats) and the office looks the other way.
- The professionalism of maintenance varies greatly. They are mostly competent, but a few are very rude and inconsiderate. All have tended to enter your apartment without notice (or emergency), which is a violation of state law. However, a polite tenant will be able to nip these transgressions in the bud.
- Like all landlords, do not trust the office. Get everything in writing when you move in and out.
- Water temperature is often erratic in the morning, as noted here. Maintenance seems to be working on this with one tenant in the A building-- I do not know how the hot water situation could be addressed on the premises considering it comes from a gas furnace in the basement.
- The fitness center is good. Two new treadmills (total of three) and an exercise bike were recently installed. A universal machine and freeweights are also available.
