I've lived here for two years while being a graduate student. The building is close to campus (PITT & CMU), grocery store, banks, and places to eat. I've lived in a one-bedroom very comfortably. The building is quiet both inside and out. All utilities are included except electric which for me never went above $20/month (even with an air-conditioner in the summer). There are brand new windows, newly paved parking lot ($70/month), and I have a newer refrigerator and stove. The apartment manager is very nice and always willing to stop and chat in the hall or entry way. Overall I enjoyed living here for its conveniences and quietness.

HOWEVER, this place is not without faults...

The people are quiet, but not very friendly, you'd be lucky to get a smile while passing in the hallway, or a door held for you when entering or leaving. Maintenance is hit or miss, sometimes they are there within 1-2 days, other times it takes a month. When I moved in I was promised blinds in my apartment..2 years later, still no blinds. When I moved in the building seemed really well taken care off, common areas vacuumed, dusted, neat. Since then the building manager has been given other buildings to take care of, the stairwells are gross, the carpets dirty, some kind of dead bugs always in the basement, and the washer and dryers are rusty (RUINS YOUR CLOTHES). It is a diversified building with many grad students and some older adults, many cultures...therefore many different food smells in the hallways.

Overall I've enjoyed living here, but I am ready for an upgrade, and it doesn't seem as though this place is upgrading with me.
