I was shocked when I read the previous reviews of Allegheny Center. I cannot praise the staff, the security, the comfort, cleanliness, the tenants and our overall experience enough. My father was a patient in Allegheny General Hospital for some time, and my mother and I stayed in Bldg. #10. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The staff was so accomodating, polite and went out of their way when we had questions. Coming from 100 miles away from a rural area, we were extremely apprehensive staying in the Northside of Pittsburgh. At no time did we feel threatened or uncomfortable. Some of the tenants on our floor went out of their way for us, and were extremely helpful and friendly. My sister was assigned a parking space inside the parking garage when she arrived from Virginia for the weekend to visit our father. I was very concerned about noise at night since my mother is elderly and not in good health. I was very pleased to find out that at no time was there noise in the hallway, or other apartments at night in our building. Allegheny General Hospital provided a shuttle bus to take us to the hospital and back to the apartment at no charge. The shuttle bus stops directly in front of Allegheny Center, Bldg. #10. We were told we could even wait inside the doors of the building, if we were hesitant about waiting for the shuttle outside. The fact that we felt safe, secure and comfortable was a tremendous relief to my critically ill father, and took a tremendous amount of stress off both my parents and myself. We truly felt at home at Allegheny Center and our overall experience was exceptional.
