i had some bad experience when i first moved in. they promised to change my carpet for me by my move-in date but didn't. after starting to pay rent for a few days, while being unable to move in, i complained to them and the lady at the office told me she cannot do anything about it because they hire outside contractors and they were busy. she asked me to live with the old carpet or wait!!! this is pretty unreasonable since i have already paid rent for a few days without being able to stay in there. anyway, i spoke to higher management and the carpet was changed the next day. u just have to push it. there is a lady called kathy in the office. she is the best to talk to, as she is very helpful.
overall experience there was great, except for the high rent, and they increased the rent too much each year. the previous security guard was also kind of scary, who used to put his arm around lady tenants. hey, now he is working at cmu as a security guard and he is often seen peeking at ladies doing aerobics and step exercises in the gym.
there was a rape case at amberson apts in 2000. the suspect hasn't been caught yet.
