Let me start off by saying that the beginning of my residence at Baldwin Commons was not a complete disaster. Other than folks putting their garbage in the recycling dumpsters, it started off good. I then left for a week long vacation, and made sure the apartment was completely clean before I left. Here's where things started to go bad. I come home, exhausted from a 8 hour drive, only to find a house fly infestation going on in my living room. My horror did not end there though. I ended up finding a couple cockroaches too. As if all of this wasn't bad enough, I decided to place a call to the "oh so friendly" maintenance staff. The staff consisted of 1 guy, who I believe was bangin out the landlord. He proceeded to tell me that it was not that bad, eventhough he didn't come out to look at the place. I ended up having to stay with family that night, as I didn't feel like sleeping with cockroaches and getting pooed on by house flys. The next day he dropped off some fly bombs which didn't really help either. Apparently there were holes in the mortar of the concrete, letting the flies in. I went to the landlord, completely disgruntled at this point, and let her know I wanted out of my lease. She politely ::cough cough:: explained to me that I would have to pay the remaining rent for the length of my lease in order to leave. By this point I was so angry that I went to the borough health inspector and let him know what was going on. I went back to the landlord letting her know that I saw the health inspector, and would go to the county health inspector if need be unless she ended my lease. Wouldn't you know, my lease was broken the next day. I would not reccommend this piece to anyone unless you like living with bugs. Also, should you find yourself in the same situation as I, be sure to get the paperwork from them showing that your payments were all made on time, as I'm sure had I not done that, they would've put something negative on my credit report. All in all, if you like bugs, then rent at Baldwin Commons!
