Reading a lot of the reviews, I have to agree with a lot of the gripes about Bear Run. The "safety gate" was rarely if ever closed. Parking was an issue very often. Most of all, Bear Run tried to keep a large portion of my deposit as well. And again, it was due to "stains in the carpet". I had my carpets cleaned before I moved out of the apartment. I lived there for over two years, and I did no more than the usual "wear and tear". Still, they claimed a stain in the kitchen warranted over $500 on my part! You have to walk on these carpets to understand precisely the gravity of what I am about to say, but let me tell you: the carpet at BRV is the cheapest carpet I have ever come across. I have lived in several apartments over the past ten years and I have never seen any carpet this cheap. I could feel the nails used to fasten the edges of the carpet through it when I stepped on the edges. It became a running joke with my friends who would come visit : "don't step on the edges!" I do want to note that the maintenance crew was top notch and that the office staff who were present before the most recent management switch was also very nice. However, the new office staff along with the new management are dificult to deal with. Bear Run is in a great location and is beautiful from the outside, but even if you enjoy your time while there, they will make you sorry you chose rent from them.
