The one good review for Carriage Park

Alright, maybe it's because I moved here from a REALLY REALLY BAD Apartment (We called it Alleghetto) but I have to say that my experience here has been almost nothing but good. First I'll get the negative things out of the way.
1.) The problem with the management isn't a joke. Me and my girlfriend had an awful time getting the lease for our one bedroom. We were both new college students and had never signed a lease on our own. I understood that this would be a bit of a hassle, so I informed management that this was all new to me and that I would need help filling out the paperwork. They said that was fine, but soon the 1 week processing delay turned into a nearly three week delay because of paperwork that wasn't filled our properly when I had explicitatly asked them if it was correct. Then I was told the night before I was to be kicked out of my old apartment that my co-signer had to be there tomorrow morning to sign some paper. Which really was awful because I had to ask my father to drive three hours from Ohio just to sign these papers that they wouldn't fax! The whole thing turned into a huge nightmare... but somehow we muddled through the red tape in the end. On an up note though, I have noticed that the management is getting better everytime I've had a problem since. I'm beginning to think that this is because they're actively trying to improve their service so I'm giving them two stars instead of one.
2.) You will be able to hear your neighbors. This doesn't mean you'll be able to talk to them through the walls, or that you woun't be able to sleep at night. It just means that when something goes THUMP upstairs you'll hear it. The only really annoying thing I can really think of is that my upstairs neighbor has a treadmill and likes to excersise once a day. I just bear it or turn up my TV and computer. It's not a major thing at all!
3.) The water temperture fluctuates at "peak" times. When alot of people are showering (e.g. mornings and evenings) the temperture of the water will bounce back and forth. This can be quite annoying, but I've noticed its not as often as it was with my old apartment so I'm fine with it. If anything else, just get used to showering right before bed, or as soon as you get home from work/school.
And thats it. Seriously, everything else has been agreeable to me and my girlfriend.
The parking situation is really great in my opinion, I love being able to park in front of the front door. It totally beats any elevator or parking lot situation I've ever had. It is basically outside parking though. So if that bothers you rent a carport!
The grounds are decently maintained. The roads and sidewalks are always well salted. Maintenance has always been prompt and excellent. I live in building 7 so I've never even seen so much as a bug in my apartment! It's fairly affordable, and has a bus route that runs close the the Art Institute where I go to school! I really couldn't ask for much more. They allow pets (Alleghetto didn't). Plus it is close to a plethora of restuarants and stores. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable alternative to the student sponsered housing at the Art Institute, or anyone else!
