The manager displays very dismissive attitude towards the tenants. I personally heard her making derogatory comments about Indian community to her staff. And in fact Indian community is the most peace loving, non complaining, non demanding and biggest tenant community at Carriage Park. The manager's favorite phrase is "We are equal housing opportunity", but there is no equality in her manners. While visiting the apartments, she and rest of the staff refuses to follow tenant's kind request to remove shoes at the doorstep. She says that it is her right to enter the apartment at her will and on her terms. She said she does not believe in the stupid culture of removing shoes at the doorstep. I already checked the PA tenant laws, she has right to enter the apartment, but has to follow your instructions inside the apartment as you are the legal tenant/owner of that place.
Over the years the quality of service and level of amenities have gone down. To name a few, full size washer/dryers are replaced by smaller size with increase in per load price. If the load size is reduced, at least the per load rate should not go up. It is double taxing. Toilets are replaced by water saving but faulty toilets which get stuck many times. Termite killing service is stopped. You can see old termite pesticide distributing discarded all over the complex. And the same manager terminated tenant's lease over the bugs. While new, this management touted that they will install dish washers in the apartments. The promise unfulfilled till now!
As all of use know, if we tolerate this behavior it will increase over the time. As a tenant we have great power if we organize and complain to the management. And be ready to move out of the apartments as a group. I can guarantee Carriage Park will not find such high rent paying peaceful tenants other than Indian community. We all will have to compromise and will have to go through some hardship. But it is worth than tolerating such discrimination.
All interested please reply and start a blog to organize! I hope we exercise our consumer rights and biggest leverage of taking our business somewhere else!!

| Without hesitation I absolutely deny your statement that I have made derogatory comments about anyone based upon their national origin. I find that annonymous statement to be slanderous and without merit! No employee or contractor of Carriage Park is permitted to take off their shoes. This is for the employees protection. OSHA and insurance guidelines prohibit the removal of shoes. Having said that, employees will wear booties over their shoes at any residents request. We have them on hand at all times. I have NEVER referred to the practice of taking off shoes to be "stupid culture". I repeat emphatically I have never said and never would say such a thing. I'm sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with our efforts to make Carriage Park more environmentally responsible by installing new toilets and shower heads. If the toilets are properly used there is no reason for there to be any problems with their use. Your statment regarding termite control is also false. Carriage Park takes every measure possible to protect the buildings and the residents from all pests. I encourage you to direct me to "old termite pesticide" that you claim is discarded all over the complex. At no time has anyone said that dishwashers were to be installed in every unit in Carriage Park. Some floorplans have always come with this feature. Some residents have taken advantage of the portable dishwashers that are often available and many others have made the choice to rent a renovated unit that includes all new cabinetry, flooring, appliances and that includes a dishwasher. I regret that you seem unhappy with your experience, but I have to take issue with your numerous incorrect statements. I would be more than happy to talk to you about any issues you are having. As to any resident who has been asked to vacate, that decision was based soley upon lease violations. The reason that is sometimes necessary is again to protect the community AND those living in this community. I would also like to say that in addition to being an employee of Carriage Park I am also a resident. I am very proud of my community and my neighbors. I love the people, the family friendly environment and how the overwhelming majority residents are a joy to deal with personally and professionally. Unfortunatley in a community this large there are often times the lease is violated and actions must be taken. I wish you could know, understand and maybe even appreciate just a little how hard this staff of 18 works to make the 953 families living at Carriage Park happy. Do we always succeed? I regret we do not. Is it always possible? I'm not sure it is. Do we do all we can? I say we do! And we do so with pride and dedication. While this website might have some benefits I think it is unfortunate that anyone can post anything they want and it doesn't seem to matter if it is even true. | |

this place is the worst place in Pittsburgh to live. Please check out the Federal Fair Housing FFH website to file a complaint. You can sue Dryfus management and the manager under the new law. Would not hurt to get something started.
