we recently shifted to carriage park and our experience might help you to be very careful while deciding about your accomodation. CRANE VALLEY and CARRIAGE PARK apartments are both run by the same management . But there is a hidden difference between the two which some people are not aware of . Atleast I was not aware of it, till somebody told me .
CRANE valley lies within the pittsburgh boundry and CARRIAGE PARK does not . So the city tax is not applicable for CARRIAGE PARK which would be around 3-4% of your salary. So if your salary is say 40000$ per annum, the tax would be around 400$. you can save that at Carriage park. Though Crane valley is less costly , (around 30-40$ less a month ), but still staing at Carriage Park makes more sense , since you save more .

SEcondly , remember , that the management staff tries to hide apartments from you .
Though they claim to be literate and should have a very high degree of common sense , but don't assume anything while explaining your requirements. Be as specific as possible. THis is my personal experience. For eg. if you are looking for an apartment between 20th to 25th August 2000 , say that explicitly , IF you can afford , tell them , that I don't mind renting the apartment 2-3 days prior also . Don;t assume that they would tell you of an apartment which is free on 18th August 2000. They are DUMB, I don;t know why !!!!!

If you have a car , then it is fine , but if you want to commute by bus (if you don't have a car , or if your car is down ) , crane valley is around 1 mile furhur inside from the Green Tree Road , whereas Carraige park is on Gree Tree Road itself . and the bus stand is just outside , in case of carriage park . becuase of this reason , the bus frequency from Carriage park is far more better than Crane Valley .

Carriage park , 3 different types of apartments , whereas Crane valley has I guess only one. Carriage park has High rise building (similiar to motel) , garden view apartments , and luxury apts. But crane valley does not provide you with that choice .

There has been a lot of incidents of stealing in Crane Valley , whereas fewer in Carriage park .

I hope this review helps , I just wanted to help you guys in making your decision while staying at Carriage park or Crane VAlley ..

Management is Horrible. Does not respect Tenants. Treats them like gabarge and ignorant. Better professional management is needed. Overall top management please help lest you will lose so many tenants. So many people are complaining quietly.
