Don't Do It

This is a condo complex.

However, there is a serious issue with noise when the students move in. I lived here several months without an issue. Then the students from a nearby university moved in and it has become unbearable.

Complaints are not addressed professionally by the slug, Beth Reed, the "condo manager". Beth would like to say that there are the normal apartment sounds in the building. However, thumps from something being dropped on the floor, at all hours of the night are not normal apartment sounds.

I've personally dealt with Beth for 2 years now. She is both kind and efficient as a building manager and has always helped me when necessary. Advice should not be taken from anyone who claims anonymity!

I am a current tenant in Chatham Tower and have to say it is very quiet, well insulated for sound, occupied by pleasant professionals or retired people, a few studious students, medical residents, etc. Never experienced anything that was disturbing. Recently completely re-did the gardens, plaza, and fountains- very lovely to look at and enjoy. Had a plumbing issue once that got resolved immediately. Excellent staff and management who are of the highest degree of professionality and real people you can talk with. When we leave this place we will be sad to go. It has been great for us. Wish we could take it with us to our new city when we move.

Hey espo71, now you have my email, you are still anonymous, after all that is just your username, no email address is attached to you. Anyways, the tenant in 9K, Giovanni, has been before the board on one occasion for these incidents regarding noise. The board and I gave him a pass. However, considering his actions of the last few weeks he will be there again . . . This time I am going to insist that something be done. After all, how many nights should you be awakened by loud noises? One, two, three? It has been over 20 nights for me. Also, I understand Giovanni, 9K, has issues paying his condo dues in a timely manner. I believe I read the tenant in 9K was at one point 2 or 3 months behind, the Board was looking to take action on that issue. He is a really upstanding condo member. . . Naught! As for Beth - it has been said to me by a very high level condo member that they realize Beth is incompetent. That Beth was like a big toad and had to be pushed to do anything. So, whenever I told her I will not have my complaints ignored . . . that I would go over her head directly to the Board directly and bring an attorney with me. Beth reluctantly passed the last 10 complaints onto the Board. After that, of course, Beth's attitude toward me became worse. Whenever I get my mail Beth ignores me and refuses to speak to me unless I go into her office - this from a condo manager whose office faces the mailboxes? Please - Beth's attitude is deplorable. I have been in the elevator as Beth has walked by and greeted others on the elevator ??? not greeting me, just glaring at me - Really PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR. Looking forward to your response espo71, whoever you may be, after all, I am not afraid to post my email address . . . why are you?
