Small but okay.

I do not have the negative opinion that others had of Chestnut Ridge.
I didn't have bugs and my skylights did not leak (although, in the winter, condensation did form and occasionally drip). The place was small, but you'd know that once you took a tour or looked at the brochure. I didn't like the wallpaper in the kitchen/bathroom, but that's no biggie (and I'm picky). Our carpet was new when we moved in and the place was very sunny (I even grew some tomatoes on the inside windowsill). I do agree, though, that the gym is pretty small/pathetic.
I liked being next to the park because it was a great place to walk my dog. People seemed pretty friendly, and I loved having a washer/dryer inside the apartment. Parking was never a problem.
Maintenance fixed the few problems I had: new light bulbs in the kitchen and a broken electrical outlet. The office staff was nice, and helped me out the one time my roommate accidentally locked me out.
I think the apartments are a tad pricey, but they are WAY cheaper than the other complexes in the area. Plus, some of the other complexes in the area offered extras that I knew I would never use, such as mountain bike rentals and a business office. Some people may find those things useful, but I didn't want to pay for frills that I wasn't going to need.
