Dryer duct does NOT meet building code - Ok other than that.

Pros - Price, clean, indoor basketball and racquetball court, pool, pet friendly, and friendly staff.
Cons - Dryer ductwork does not meet the building codes. The building codes clearly states that no more than 25 ft of 4 in ductwork is to be installed. Chestnut Ridge was built with 3 in ductwork. What does that mean' Well, since it violates the building code and every dryer manufacture's installation requirements on the market, it is a fire hazard. The ductwork is too restrictive and if you happen to live on the bottom floor, you will have to run the dryer through 3 cycles (no joke) to dry your clothes. This is a fire hazard, wastes energy, and wears clothes out faster, since they are exposed to 3 times the mechanical wear of a regular drying cycle. Simply, the dryer duct needs to be ripped from the walls and re-installed per building codes so the dryers will function properly.
Other than the dryers, the other cons are, bad pet owners that do NOT clean up their dog poo (do not set one foot in the grass, or you ll have about an 80% chance of stepping on a landmine), older units, no patio, people speeding through the parking lots, and old appliances.

I think the price is a con also. As for the dryer, I got a vent kit at Home Depot for about $12. You only have to run the dryer once but it makes the apartment VERY humid and warm. Okay in the winter but means higher AC in the summer.

Yeah, we did a kinda "vent kit" like you're talking about. All you do it remove the flexible dryer duct from the wall, then rubber band a pair of panty hoes on the duct to catch the lint. Works good (dries in 1 cycle instead of 3), but like you said, ONLY run this in the colder months when your heater is on. Using it in the summer this way adds too much moisture in the air, will increase your AC bill, and may cause mold issues.
