Maintenance comes in whenever they feel, and do not leave notification if you are away, sometimes not locking the door. They changed/replaced windows in February, which was ridiculous, on days different than their letters stated, so you couldn't come home, the rent on the initial lease is okay, and then, if you do not renew for another year, the month to month price is ridiculous, like a mortgage payment ($669). I could go on quite a bit, the potholes, the lack of privacy by maintenance, the avoidance of mgt when addressed with issues, etc.

Manager's Response

Maintenance leaves comment cards in every apartment they enter when service is requested. The window replacement project had to continue through the winter months in order for all apartments to be completed within one year. Residents have the option to renew their lease for one year, but if they plan on moving out less than 12 months in the future the Month-to-Month option (price stated above) is available to residents so that they are only required to give a 60-day written notice to vacate and not have to pay the termination fee equal to one month's rent.

In response to the additional comments made by other renters below, the first year you leased with us it may have been at a discounted rent if you pay your gas separate, but when residents renew their leases, the gas then becomes included in their rent. We are no longer offering a discounted rent in exchange for a resident choosing to pay their own gas.

Interesting rebuttal...however, I completed my lease and was offered a year's renewal at $559, or a month-to-month at $669, not including gas and electric. Gas is included in most people's rent; however, I signed up at a "discount rate" and paid gas separate, as it was supposed to be "cheaper" that way. I only had one yellow card left by maintenance for changing a furnace filter, and a Crane Village envelope left on another occasion (when I was showering, which causes one to severely NOT trust the leasing agency at all), of being in the apt, with no reason specified. At no other time has anything been left in the apartment. If you are going to try and deny the huge rent increase for someone who did complete their years' lease, for a month-to-month lease, you should not send it to the tenant IN WRITING. Words don't lie. And yes, I was a tenant who paid my rent on time, every month, and this was supposed to be, IN YOUR WORDS on the offer, "a deal for a good tenant." Be honest to prospective tenants here. Show some veracity.

It's very very sad to hear that not only did I go through this some one else did. Why would you send men into a woman's apartment without notice? I too was in the shower one morning when a "maintenance" man came into my apartment to do a ready on my furnace. and to this day they say I had notice. I am still waitng for my noctice.

I am the "aprilice0413" listed above. Interestingly, my other comment about this rental site is gone from reviews. Not only did maintenance come and go as they please, one stole a ring from my bedroom during the sliding door replacement project, and the FBI were investigating the whereabouts of a former tenant -- which they discovered was still living in my apt when I was working my midnight shifts, using his OLD APT KEY -- meaning that they did not change the locks. My checkbook, account info, personal identity were all stolen, my pc was hacked, and the former tenant was wanted for terrorism when he "moved out." When I found this all out, I slept with a knife under my bed, had to DEMAND the locks changed (and boy did I get attitude for that), I had mail stolen, and not one apology from CV for what they enabled to happen. I was informed by the FBI that this wanted person would try and kill me if I attempted to confront him. I moved in with my fiancee at the end of May and put a scathing account on this site. How interesting that CV had the ability to have it removed!!!! And I love how civil they try t be in their attacking rebuttals to tenants on here. If you read between the lines, you will see that they are behaving as rudely in print as they are in person. NO ONE should have to live in their squalid conditions and pay the rent they charge. It's an insult to everyone that puts their own safety at risk there.
