No longer a safe place to live

When I moved in here, the rental office put me through the ringer with credit checks, etc. It is apparently no longer that way. They have definitely been letting in a "certain element"- if you plan to rent here, take a walk around first and see how many ground floor windows are bent from attempted break-ins. Check with the Pittsburgh Police dept and see how many calls they get. Walk by late at night, even during the week, and see how many parties are going on, loud music at all hours, people leaning on other tenant's cars. The rental office DOES NOT CARE. They continue to raise the rent and all they do is sit around in the office, taking calls and doing nothing unless a potential tenant comes by. The prior management was great but this management is horrible- they don't care about tenant's safety. What does that tell you' And I agree that a big part of the problem is all of the students they have been letting in. The prior management let a few students in but if they received noise complaints about them, the students were quickly evicted. Please do not rent here- it is not worth it. And if Crane is actually reading this- do something about these problems, rather than just collect rent checks!! SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV

I would like to reitterate the fact that each tenant is approved based on the same critera to include credit checks and income/resident verifications. This had never changed and has actually gotten more strict in recent months. I also encourage tenants to call the Pittsburgh Police department for information at Crane Village if that is a concern prior to moving in. The office is only made aware of major offenses that occur onsite, and are not informed by the police of each and everytime they are onsite, but please keep in mind that we have several police officers who live here and patrol the area regularly. Also, if you have any problems with residents lingering around your vehicle CALL THE POLICE. The rental office staff is only here select hours and while we are here we will be more than willing to help you, but it is the job of our local police officers to keep the peace and enforce law. If you have any problems with the noise levels of your neighbors apartment please do your part and put it in writing to us. Our hands are tied to the regulations of the lease and require 3 written noise complaints before legal action can be taken. In order for us to help you with your noisy neighbor, you have to help us with identifying them. |

So, are the grounds/maintenance workers that live here put through the same checks? You know, the ones that started a fire and whom you still let live here??
