I lived here for two years while in Grad school and found it ideal. It is close to several different bus lines and is within walking distance to a grocery store and the Shadyside shops.
It is very safe. There is valet parking, but there are is also a lot of street parking.
The noise wasn't bad. There are a lot of children in the building and sometimes you can hear them playing in the hall-but for the most part it is not a problem.
The management is great, very friendly.
You can definitely find cheaper places to live in Pittsburgh, but you do get your money's worth here.
