not luxury but convenient

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
King Edward Annex and Wellington.
I have been leaving here for 4 years. The stuff are friendly. They respond very fast in emergency, but don??t care at all about chronic problems (dropping taps, pilled painting, broken radiators etc). The kitchen, bathroom, floors and windows are very old. That what said on the company website is probably truth only for a very few selected apartments, but I did not see any renovated apartments in the building. There is only one high speed elevator in the Wellington instead of two as it is indicated on the web. The second freight retro elevator is about 60 years old and can be operated by staff only, there were no problems with it so far. The elevator in King Edward Annex is super retro! Washers and driers are new but the laundry room looks awful. The floor plan which shown on website is for the best selected apartments only. A noise: I never had problems from the neighbors, but there is a lot of noise from outside. There is a big problem with mail delivery, UPS does not have access to the building, and maintenance refuses to pick up the packages; you have to take a day off to receive your shipment. The best feature of this place is location ?? 10-15 min walk to the University, a bus stop is on the corner, walking distance to restaurants. The price is increasing every year, you probably won??t be aware of it when you move in. However it is still affordable. When all of Pittsburgh residences are struggling of cold weather during the winter, you can enjoy of tropical climate in Wellington; this was very nice to keep the windows opened even in very cold days. Overall, this is not a luxury place, but convenient if you are a Pitt resident.
