DO NOT rent from Mcquarters Realty. We have tried to have the heat turned on the last week and half. Our apartment is freezing and they refuse. They say that the temperature is going to be in the 70's. Hello - it is in the 30's and 40's at night! We are sleeping in our clothes and watching TV wearing our coats. We just moved in and are sorry we did. Wish we had found this site before signing a lease. The manager in the office has an attitude. They are insensitive and unresponsive to your concerns. We have discovered from talking to other tenants that Mgmt. hikes up the rent every year, and adds on small fees here and there. The apartments aren't even that nice. Ancient 1950's era kitchen and stove, and old bathrooms. From what they charge you in rent, you would think they could update. Then we heard there was a fire in one of their buildings. After a remodel, they raised the tenants rents two hundred dollars a year! This is not the place you would want to call home. We will definitely be moving at the end of this lease. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk

I just signed with McQuarters and wonder if you or the next person read the lease you signed. It has the dates they will turn on the heat -- actual dates. It may be crazy (especially if it's unusually hot or cold) but it's right there in print. It also says they will withhold to clean the carpets. I asked about both of these & they were very honest in their answer -- even if the carpet is clean they WILL withhold - period. I knew when I signed. The leasing agent said they might reconsider the heat date if it got & was supposed to stay cold early or was still hot but in general it was done as it stated in the lease. They said it had to do with maintenance schedules - it isn't like a regular home where you just switch it back & forth between heat & cool. Right or wrong it's in the lease & seems like we should know what we sign & agree to live by it if we want them to do the same.
