Don't live here!

I moved into Amberson Gardens because the price wasn't bad and my studio apartment was actually a decent size. I wish I had been able to afford to move out, especially since my rent has increased substantially and is no longer equivalent to the value of the apartment. The only good thing about Meyers is that they are prompt with repairs. Otherwise, they are rude and not at all worth what I'm paying to live here. The appliances in my apartment are probably as old as the last paint job, which means they are from the 70s. The day I moved in, they were still painting the place even though they knew for months I was coming that day. My apartment was disgusting when I moved in, the prior tenant hadn't cleaned before he left and Meyers had made no effort to make the place presentable for me.

On top of that, I have one particular bad experience with a maintenance staff member. He had his car parked in a no parking zone in front of the handicapped entrance to the sidewalk. He moved his car to the other no parking spot, and my boyfriend pulled into the first one to wait for me to come down. In the 30 seconds it took me to get downstairs, the maintenance worker came up to my boyfriend's car and started screaming at him for having parked his car in a fire lane. He hadn't even turned the engine off. When my boyfriend argued back, the employee jumped in his car and followed us to a stop light, got out of his car, and started yelling again. Fortunately he backed down, but I have to admit that both of us were more than a little scared that he might do something violent. Between that and the fact that they stopped having a security guard/parking attendant at night, I no longer feel safe living here and cannot wait for my lease to be up at the end of the summer.
