Tolerable

My biggest problem was when I first signed a lease. I signed the lease after reading it, wrote out all the checks (application fee, first month, and a credit check fee), and they cashed them. A couple days later they said that there is a requirement that a tenent's salary must be 4x rent. I gave them my salary information on the lease when I signed it. Apparently they think that anything less would be unaffordable for me. I had to turn over all information on my financial assets to prove I could afford rent! And, when I was so upset that they were putting me through this, they would not refund my money so I could get an apartment elsewhere. Funny thing is that at the end of one year with them they offered me to resign...what about my inability to afford the place''' Apparently that did not matter anymore.
I have lived in a Mozart apartment for 2 years in Regent Square, and my boyfriend lived in a different building in Shadyside for 2 years as well. Both of us agree that the overall appearance of the buildings we lived in were nice - nicer than anything else we saw. The price was just pushing it, but considering the appearance and no security deposit it was tolerable. The locations are convenient, but there is nothing else to recommend this company.
