Roaches, termites, and field mice. Exterminator will show up within a week, but over the course of a year, I had to call 6-8 times.

They have all types of roaches... large brown ones, black ones, smaller brown ones. I kept my place immaculately clean and eventually had to not even keep food in my cupboards.

You can hear the filed mice scratching from the inside of the walls at night.

No matter how clean you keep your apartment, the roaches will enter via the drain system or through holes in the wall behind the stove or sink.

They refinished the floor while I was living there, without my requesting. I had to spend a day walking on manilla paper that had been taped to the unfinished wood floor.

Moving out is extremely difficult. You can only use a freight elevator, but you have to reserve it 3-5 days in advance and request the exact hours you will need it.

They do not require a security deposit, and the leaving tenant is only required to leave the room "broom clean". When I moved in, there was feces on the bathroom wall and decayed food behind the stove.
