STAY AWAY FROM MOZART!

When I first moved into the Georgean in Shadyside, I thought it was the perfect place for a young, single person living in the city. The old windows, the toliet that clogged every other time I flushed, and even the old steam heaters that sounded like someone was pounding a hammer on them everytime the heat kicked on...all of it seemed somewhat charming at first. And then when I decided to move at the end of my lease ...that's when things went down hill! First of all, Mozart asked me in FEBRUARY if I was planning to renew my lease...IN AUGUST! After deciding that the Georgean apartment would be too small for me, and now my fiance, I informed Mozart that I would not be renewing for August. Beginning in March, they started showing my apartment to perspective tennants. Just a few showings at first, and usually when I was at work. Then...May rolled around. Mozart showed my apartment 10 times in the course of almost three weeks. Then...June, where in less than three weeks, my apartment was shown 15 times...that I know of!! I say that because one time when I actually stayed in the apartment while it was to be shown, THREE Mozart agents came through my apartment...and only ONE viewing was scheduled. Agents schedule MULTIPLE showings a day, do not turn lights off when they leave (leaving me with a higher electric bill), and come at unreasonable times of the day...like early SUNDAY MORNING!!!
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rent from Mozart!! They are the worst management company!!!! You will not be happy with how you are treated as a tennant!!!!

P.S. How could I forgot this''!! When I moved into the Georgean, I asked if they could fix the peeling paint in my bedroom, living room, and kitchen. After being told multiple times that it was on the schedule to be done, Mozart finally decided to repaint those rooms...IN JUNE!! Maybe they were hoping it help them sell the apartment. Perhaps if they would have cleaned up the WHITE POWDER and DUST they left EVERYWHERE before showing it they could have gotten a sale. Better luck next time, Guys!
AND...The side doors to the building are OFTEN left opened or are not pulled shut. I'm glad I have my "Door Jammer!"
AND...
DO NOT get suckered into paying an extra $65 a month to park your car in a stuffy, mold-smelling, leaking garage, where you can barely fit your car into its space because of the SUVs that have been allowed to park there as well (despite the fact that our lease CLEARLY says that SUVs are NOT permitted in the garages!)
AND...
Beware too of showing agents telling perspective tennants that the air conditioner in the bedroom that you were told YOU had to purchase, actually COMES with the apartment!!

I live in the GEORGIAN (if you lived there, why can't you spell it) and I love it. I have been here for 2 years. The problem is that people sign things without reading it. It says in the lease when they send the renewal, AND if you try to remember back to when you called to see an apartment you didn't care when you went to saw it or who you were pissing off. You just wanted to see the apartment. I would say before renting...read your lease carefully, and try not to only use sites like this to complain. It's funny how people only come here to complain. The company has been in business since like the 70's and out of the thousands of people they rented to each year only like 100 or so total over that time span are unhappy.

This "response" sounds like it is directly from Mozart management- their answer to everything is "read the lease". They may have been in business for 70 years - but the current management staff stinks. The comments on this website are telling about a very ugly, anti-tenant attitude. I wish I hasd read this before signing a lease.

And the management is a psycho family owned ego driven nightare.
