Overall, nice place to live

I have lived in the Pennsylvania for 3 years. The first two, I lived on the first floor (which I don't recommend) where my apartment was broken into twice, each time during the middle of the day when I was not home. There are bars on the windows and the air conditioners seem impenetrable, but some crackhead (literally) smashed the air conditioner into my apartment with a brick. Mozart was very responsive in fixing the damage as well as ensuring the air conditioner could no longer be smashed into the apartment. I know from speaking with the police that other first floor apartments in the building have been broken into within that time period. The third year I have lived on the second floor, and I have had no safety problems with this apartment. I did, however, have my car broken into on the street. Despite my string of bad luck, Mozart cannot control the crime in the area and can only do so much to protect peoples apartments and cars. I have found them to be responsive to all of my safety concerns. The moral here is to not live on the first floor in Pennsylvania or leave valuables in your car.
Every time I have needed something fixed or had to speak with someone in the office they have been polite and responsive. Many people on this site have complained about the lease renewals going out so early. If you have a problem with this - or are unsure if you wish to keep the apartment - you can talk to the property manager and they will let you hold off on renewing until 60 days before your lease is up. Yes maintenance will come into your apartment without notifying you sometimes - but they actually fix things! Also, if it is a really bad time, most maintenance people will come back later if you ask them. Overall, the apartments and building are clean and well maintained, management is responsive, everything I have asked to be fixed has been fixed, and many of the "lease issues" can be dealt with by speaking to the property manager. I would recommend living in a Mozart building - just not on the first floor.

Goggle imacomputa.org to get someone's take on the actual lease and then decide for yourself.

each property may have it's own manager. that is why people's experiences differ so much.
