Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
there were many things that enticed me about this apartment when i viewed it with my roommate. it was huge for the money ($1300 total including all utilities AND parking for each of us), our living room was bigger than my entire apartment is now. we had a lot of closet space, laundry was never a problem, neither was noise except when the neighbors were hanging stuff on the wall. but here was the deal-breaker...
the day i moved in, i saw bugs in the sink. live ones. what i have come to know as some type of roach. i called immediately, they said they refresh the traps between tenants and i said they must not have because i was seeing bugs. they came the next day with new traps. a couple of months later these bugs reappeared, along with their cousins, another kind of roach. meanwhile, as mentioned in the lease, we kept our apartment immaculately clean as they recommended to ward off these uninvited guests, but to no avail. i probably called 4-6 times in the year i lived there for them to come refresh the traps. they always came in a timely manner but that in no way makes up for me feeling like i was living in filth with these bugs.
also, about 4 months after moving in, a little mouse decided to join us as well. we thought about trying to get rid of it ourselves but decided to just call them and have them take care of it, which they did with those little snap traps. which worked, evidently we had 2 mice. this happened again later in the year, and they took care of it again.
the thing is, you should never have to live in infestation. this building doesnt even deserve to remain open until it has been properly exterminated.
