I lived in nob hill apartments for 2 years. my rent was paid early every month, I was a quiet, good tenant. I lived in the part of the building across from the garbage - horrible mistake. When looking at the apartment, I made clear to the woman showing it that I work very long hours, and was home often only to sleep - she said I would never hear a peep. Huge lie.
Garbage trucks would dump dumpsters outside my window for an hour, three days a week - very early in the morning. They would also leave the trucks run while they chatted with the maintenance people.
There were also loud thumping car stereos, people moving in and out, mail being delivered, as this was the central location for this type of activity.
As I stated earlier - I worked very long hours - I almost always had to park extremely far away from the location of my apartment, because when I would arrive home - all spots were occupied.
Maintenance entered my apartment without my consent, and often knowledge.
I did write several letters to management, which were replied to that they were very sorry and taking care of the problems - more lies.
I was told they would find me an apartment in another area of the building that wasn't as loud, and the same day they called me to look at a place, when I arrived - they told me they had a miscommunication between their staff and had already rented it out. The same day.
I eventually was forced to move out - since I never had one restful night living there - and since then they have been harrassing me saying that I didn't give the proper 60 day notice to move out - and want me to pay two months rent when I didn't live there.
Pretty nice that somehow - they couldn't find me another apartment in the whole complex - but yet it took them two months supposedly to rent mine out. Unreal. Avoid these people, they don't care about the tenants - they break their own lease - but expect you to follow it.
I love the new place I moved to, which I pay less rent for, is bigger, with a garage and balcony, and most importantly QUIET!
Trust me - I tried everything I could to work with these people - but they don't care about their tenants - or your problems. They will lie and mislead you to believe they are taking care of the problem - when they are doing nothing.

We regret that you had such a negative living experience here at Nob Hill. Our goal is to make each and every resident happy and comfortable in their home. As a member of the Nob Hill Staff, I would like to respond to the comments above. First, there were several attempts made by the office to try and relocate this past resident to another part of the building, but none of our calls were returned. On one specific occasion, we held a unit for four days awaiting a response from this resident. If a resident is unhappy, we will do anything possible to make sure that the problem is taken care of correctly and promptly. In response to the trash removal. The company that removes the trash from our property is hired by Scott Township. We have sent several letters to the township requesting that the trash be picked up after 9 am, but they have not always done so. The companys response to our requests have been that business hours start at 8am and that they pick up in residential neighborhoods starting at that time. Your letters did not go unread and we made every attempt possible to try and resolve the trash issue. I know how frustrating it is to be wakened by garbage trucks. They pick up in my neighborhood at about 8:30 am. As for your complaint about entering your apartment, our staff would never enter your apartment without you knowing. The maintenance staff only enters apartments if a maintenance request is called in or if their is an emergency. We repsond to maintenance requests either the same day it is called in or within 24 hours. We try and make the repair as quickly as possible so you are not inconvenienced. If there is an emergency, per your lease agreement we are not required to give you 48 hours notice. If there is preventative maintenance that needs to be done, or if there are updates that need to be done to the apartment, we would certainly give you the proper 48 hours' notice. We understand that this is your home and we would never want you to feel uncomfortable or feel that we were invading your privacy. As for the 60 days' notice, each resident signs a lease agreement upon move-in that clearly states you must provide 60 days notice upon move out. Most properties that I have dealt with require 60 days or even a 90 day notice. I'm sure the new place you are living requires some type of notice. All of our lease renewals go out to the residents 90 days before their lease expiration. Doing this, gives the resident 30 days to make a decision to sign another lease or to provide written notice of their intent to vacate. If you fail to give proper notice, you can be held liable for another year. This is clearly stated in your lease agreement, and all residents should read each and every page of the lease before signing. However, in the case of this resident, we were able to re-rent the apartment. We made it a priority to re-rent your apartment as quickly as possible so it would minimize your costs. Legally, we did not have to do that, but we are not out to make anyone's life miserable. We care about our residents and again want to help in anyway possible. If you look at all the other comments listed by past and current residents, they have nothing but good things to say about this community. We welcome new residents and make it our goal to keep our current residents happy in their homes. Again, I apologize that you had such a negative experience here at Nob Hill and hope that you continue to be happy in your new home.

I moved to a place in mt lebanon - called morrison court. it was great. i have since bought a house, so it doesn't matter anymore -but - i figured i would respond because nobody deserves to be treated the way these people treat their tenants.
1. on the garbage issue. if the apt hadn't lied to me and told me it was being taken care of - maybe i could say you did everything in your power. the trucks in my neighborhood now pick up early - but this is a different scenario entirely. this is over an hour - of a giant garbage truck - dumping dumpsters - and just sitting outside your bedroom window while the maintenance people and garbage men chat and joke around. and we aren't talking one day a week even. and there is NO exxageration on the time. it was over an hour often. i have video tape that proves this.
sorry - don't think it's unreasonable to expect some sleep.
2. the maintenance people did enter my apt on SEVERAL occasions without my knowledge of permission - for NON-EMERGENCIES. i have a letter from the company on their letterhead that states this very thing. they apologized and said the maintenance people would be spoken to. my niece and i even saw them leaving and locking up. to say that they would never do it is a flat out lie.
3. they "attempted" to move me two times. the first time - i left work early the minute they called and by the time i got there (i work downtown - so guess an hour at most) - they had already rented out the supposed place. the second time - that they are referring to in the above response - i got a phone call from them telling me a place was going to be available and asking did i want it. i called immediately and told them i was interested - but only if i could see it first and make sure it had all the same things the place i was currently did - such as cabinets, appliances, etc. they told me they would call the current tenant back - and get back to me. a month later they called back. by that time - i was sick of their lies and had gone out and found a new place.
4. the lease terms said i had to give 60 day notice - yes. but the 60 day notice period was during that month that they never bothered to call me back. so - how was i supposed to give notice about what i was going to do - when i was waiting on them to tell me whether the other apt was available or not? i was waiting on them when that time came and went.
take it as an expensive lesson learned. DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL LIE AND SCAM YOU.
i work three jobs. i paid EVERY months rent early. they didn't care. they just took the money and didn't make any attempt to fix the things that were wrong.
as far as not being able to rent my place out - BIG SHOCK! it was a dump. i only wish i had left earlier. that living situation made me so miserable. when you work as many hours as i do - and come home hoping for a good night's sleep - and can't get one EVER - it wears at you.
take my advice - avoid these people. go to craigslist.org and find a nice place. be sure you look around and find other people to talk to about it.
look at the reviews that have come up since i lived there. it really is an awful place. you can get much more for your hard earned money somewhere else.
