Getting less mixed-income
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/29/2006
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
Have been living here for almost 3 years. Very close to where I work. Convenient. Parking not a problem for me.
Maintenance staff slow to respond. Multiple trips required. Roof leaking occasionally, had quite a mess in my apartment. Extremely slow response! Sometimes disorganized. Once got an eviction notice despite sending automated monthly e-checks. Windows poorly insulated. Have to have an additional small heater in winter.
"Mixed-income" community - my girlfriend does not feel safe here. There are rather conspicious people walking and driving around - it gets very loud in summer. One person offered to help me carry plants upstairs - only to ask for "a dollar or two" afterwards!
Many family disputes - often late at night with drunk people - hard to sleep. Very rude behaviors. I guess folks realize that and have started moving out. It's getting less and less mixed-income and more supported housing ("Section 8). You have to understand that the Oak Hill community directly interfaces with one of the most notorious housing developments in Pittsburgh - "the projects". The projects SCARE me. True "urban flavor".
Deteriorating.
