not the best place

the apartments are roomy, parking isn't always ample. there is an awful smell from old plastic hedges when you walk in the front door. the office has bad hours and they don't usually respond quickly to problems. in fact, they sometimes try to ignore them. they don't treat long time residents with respect. if you want to move within the building they charge you an arm and a leg for vacating one apartment for another. they would much rather rent an apartment to a newecomeer as opposed to someone that has been paying rent for 5 years and will likely for another 5! They are horrible at maintaining the building. they charge high prices for gas to heat the apartments. you can be in a studio and pay $60 for gas and keep the thermostat set at 68. it's unreal. it's sad they just don't really seem to care about the building or residents. it could be an amazing place. right now (1/2006) there is an issue and there was a leak and ater came down from the roof threw dozens of apartments causing damage and possible mold conditions. there are old people who are virtually helpless and the management doesn't seem to care. if i had it to do over again, and know what I know now, i am not sure i would have moved my aging mother into this building. she has not received the respect you should from someone you are paying a great deal of money to every month.
