I lived in 147 N Craig for two years. The management is friendly enough, though very slow on maintenance issues (Window blinds missing, leaky faucet...nothing major). Some issues were never resolved, but for student housing I wasn't too concerned. We did get charged on move-out for some issues that I believed were unfair, but this is par for the course in Oakland housing.

The apartments are fairly clean on the inside though the building is a little older. My apartment had a nice new kitchen with gas stove and microwave. The bathroom fixtures are older but functional. Corner apartments are very bright, some friends lived in one and it was nicer than ours. Rooms are big, plenty of room for two people in a one-bedroom. The building is very quiet, mostly graduate students and older people. I never hear any of my neighbors, though I can hear traffic on the street with my window open.

Utilities run $25/mo for electricity, everything else is included in the rent. Parking in the garage next door (Schenley House) is valet and there is a separate fee. I have heard it can take some time to get your car, but it is the middle of the city. Meters are free on evenings and weekends, so it is pretty easy for visitors to find parking during those times. It is busy in the afternoon when the high school across the street lets out with parents parked up and down the block. The rush of people can be annoying.

Overall it is a decent place. I wouldn't call it luxirious, but I enjoyed living here, as it was much better than campus apartments. For students, it is 15 minutes to CMU's back half (Wean/Scaife/NHS) and a couple minutes longer for the rest of campus.
