Excellent Location, Poorly kept interior

The location cannot be beat for the price, no argument. However, the price is only an introductory rate and will go up annually. The building is horribly insulated. Outside facing apartments are freezing cold in winter and smoldering in summer. Management denies this problem. The poor insulation also causes various environmental problems within the apartment including but not at all limited to leaking, many of which management also denied. These issues usually took multiple trips to fix, between which I would have to call management and remind them that the project was unfinished. Some units reported bug infestation during my stay there. Management is quite capable at repairing problems, but slow to respond and even slower to acknowledge the problems exist once they are pointed out. There is no way to directly contact management. One must call the answering service and await a response. Management also reserves the write, without notice, to change lease terms during the year without notice. The parking lot across the street is an ice rink in the winter. The apartment building does nothing to attend to it and AAA will not tow from it because of the incline. There is also something rather unsettling about parking in a funeral home lot, particularly when a funeral is in progress. The washer and dryer machines in the building are in poor condition. The washers do not always drain, the dryers do not get hot enough to dry clothes in less then 3 cycles. When reported to management, they offered to refund my dollar. The average age in the building is retirement and older, so it is a quiet, safe and friendly tenant population. Having said all this, the location cannot be beat for the price, if one is willing to deal with the general rudeness and apathy of the management.
