I have lived at Waldorf Towers for two years. The apartments are attractive and spacious, plus you can't beat the location! Unfortunately, the apartment building is not maintained. There are two elevators in the building, but one of them has been out of order the whole time I have been here. There has been a sign on it since I moved in stating "Parts have been ordered." I asked a woman in the office about it right after I moved in and was told that it would be fixed soon (they were waiting for diagnostics from the elevator company). Two years later, nothing has been done for it. The other elevator has broken down countless times, meaning we all have to take the stairs. The ceiling was leaking by the elevator during this past year, leaving a huge puddle of water as you exited the elevator. How was it fixed' With two buckets and towels, which stayed there for at least a week (creating a huge tripping hazard if you weren't paying attention as you exited the elevator). They did not fix the leak as about two weeks later, the same problem happened again, bringing back the buckets and towels. During the winter, my furnace stopped running and it took them two days to come to my apartment to fix it. After living here for a year, I started having problems with the hot water (we all have to share a hot water tank). My hot water would go from scalding hot to ice cold in about two minutes' time. After complaining numerous times over the course of about a month, the problem was not fixed (they told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with it) and finally the hot water tank for the whole building went, leaving the entire building without hot water. We were all without hot water for three days. There have also been countless times when I have been without water at some point in the day (which has been temporary, but a huge inconvenience). In the winter, they plow, but they do not salt the sidewalks or driveway, making it very treacherous to walk and drive. The parking lots are poorly lit. Overall, if I had to do it all over again, I would not have lived at Waldorf Towers. Obviously, I would not recommend it to anyone. The price of rent is less than other places, but just keep in mind that you typically get what you pay for.
