Website is terribly misleading. Nothing at Walnut Towers but disappointment.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I came to Pittsburgh on business, and needed a place to stay for a month. I rented a furnished apartment at the Walnut Towers (although I'd never seen them).
There was nothing but problems from the beginning. The place is literally falling apart. My first experience occured in the elevator. Not only is there just garbage in the emergency telephone (and no telephone), but one of the elevator doors needs to be pushed in order to close completely. I am not lazy; I looked for a stairwell, but there is only one, and the mailroom on the main floor is only accessible from the elevator. The second day I was here, the elevator was actually broken.
Due to a misunderstanding I had with the property management (there is no office located on the premises), I was harassed and threatened by staff members. They were incredibly rude.
The dishwasher in the place never worked. Well, it did clean the dishes (to an extent), as a good amount of water poured onto the kitchen floor (the kitchen is ugly and looks like something from a 1970s crackhouse). When maintenance came to "FIX" it, a grizzly and unkempt man came into the place, started the dishwasher cycle, and simply WADDED UP SOME PAPER TOWELS and stuck them in the leak. He left for about five minutes (I'm assuming to smoke a cigarette). When he came back, he claimed that he ordered a new one, but (and I quote), "who knows when it will come." I can imagine that he did not order said dishwasher, and the people at Walnut Properties knew for a while that the dishwasher is broken, but because this is an apartment that is used for corporate housing, they figure that people won't be living here long enough to care. This dishwasher that is broken is at least 20 years old.
The parking situation is terrible. I would not park my car in the lot, if it didn't have a car alarm.
I advise anyone who is even thinking about renting in Pittsburgh, to stear clear of Walnut Towers!
This place is the pits... in Pittsburgh!
