I'll admit that I fell in love with WP as soon as I saw their apartments and facilities. BUT several months into my move, mice started to appear, AND my house was clean! The worst is that the management didn't really do anything but actually make them appear more, because of the rat poison making them "thirsty for water." (Whatever that was supposed to mean) The mice problem never went away, until it got so bad, I requested to move. Instead, they came into my house while I was on vacation and took pictures of "opened pizza boxes" and "other food items." This was a complete "WHATHA''" move, because I DID NOT leave any food items to run rampid in my house as an invitation to rodents. Then to top things off, my apartment kitchen flooded with BLACK sewage water, contaminating more than half of all my kitchen appliances. I did not get any support nor compensation other than a horrible attitude and a sarcastic "Well, you better have renter's insurance." I was to the point where I even had a lawyer try and help me breech my lease, and he ends up telling me that their own lawyer was "scared sh*tless" of the property manager. Because my lease only had 3 more months to go, my lawyer advised that even if we did sue, after meeting the property manager, it was clear that she would play games to postpone court dates. There are so many other things I have been extremely dissatisfied with (i.e. inequality in rent), but the property manager here tops it off. (FYI She was actually fired and then hired back only because she had "close connections" with the people up top; she treats girls like how Omarosa from the Apprentice treats anybody, but eases up on guys). If you want to deal with a staff who will basically tell you to "f-off" when something goes wrong in your apartment, go ahead and move into WP. I go to Duquesne University and don't have a car, but I'm planning to sacrifice the long commute from squirrel hill just to leave this place next month.
