I resided in this apartment complex since April of 2004. I must say after I am very disappointed with the end result. If you are reading this don't stop because it could happen to you, after all It happened to me. After I decided to move out to get something more affordable two people were supposed to take over my lease. Well Rosina Vento the proberty manager decides she wants to be immature and childish. She took the two people that I found, moved them into another unit, then had the odasidy to change the lock on my apartment while I was at work. There was no reason or cause, she lies and thinks that she is immune to civil law let alone criminal law. As anyone who has lived there knows when you place a work order for repairs you get a signed off copy of the work order. I ended up in civil court with this crazy girl who used to be my roommate and gave testimony under oath that Rosina authorized the changing of the locks. Rosina claims the roommate requested it, ok then prove it and give me a copy of the work order. Great filing system it was never printed out per the assistant manager so there is no copy. Rosina and other office staff were asked my myself for a copy of the new key. No. So this place made me lose work, have no access to my personal belongings and personal effects. Just like that I found myself out on the street without a place to call home! Yeah the mice are there, the building still has the HVAC heating cooling system so your without heat or air while it takes them half of the summer to switch it from one setting to the other. The only good thing that I have to say about this place is.... I have some of the best friends I have ever had in my life because we lived in a horrible place with horrible managers.

Leases clearly prohibit sub-leasing units without the prior written consent of management. Might I also add that management has being doing a much better job of preventing over-crowding of units by students.

Ha the washington plaza might as well be a section 8 housing project. Who ever said anything about subletting any how? Not me. Any how even if sub-leasing had been so, there still is no justification in being evicted without notice. In fact the response to my original rating appears to be a pathetic attempt to counter the actions of managments childish behavior. If you read a lease from the Washington Plaza you will find that the only way an eviction without notice (locks being changed) could be justified is if a resident endangers the safety of another person in the building by way of some criminal action and there were no unlawful activities by anyone but the manager. She is just on a power trip and thinks she has the world by the balls. I mean come on, you get upset because people who are supposed to take over a lease comes into your office without an appointment OR my knowledge so you lock me out. Then move the people that I found to take over my lease is moved into another "unit" Sorry I put them in your hands because you are a liar, cheat and a scoundrel. That is bull crap! I hope the residents watch the news. Things are not looking up for the manager and I hope her residents watch the news because the world will know how partial and childish she is! And on top of everything else a good portion of my belongings have not been recovered, so maybe she will be evicted without notice and serve a few months in Alleghany County Prison for theft. Oh yeah it can happen!

"shecrossedtheline" I truly believe the response from mrg1420 is clearly a random statement from the property management- it clearly doesn't make sense that someone would say that in response when it wasn't even in part of the review or discussion, really... what would that have to do with anything anyhow? As far as the mantenance, what a joke! To: All readers. If you compare the positive statements to the negative statements you will find a similarity of the possitive ones. If you like the place so much why put your user name as anonymous unless you were in fact the office staff or property owner righting the review just to save your own ass.... This place should be completely revamped.

I don't think Rosina Vento is a bad person but she has a terrible attitude. I've had conversations with her where she's yelling, cutting me off, and/or contridicting herself in the same paragraph among other strange things (all without my help). Then she'll deny she said anything at all. I've only been in Washington Plaza for less than a month and I've already argued with her over the simplest of requests. Once she got my certified checks to start the lease, her attitude changed completely. She doesn't even try to front; very transparent and she took the excitement I had about moving into WP away immediately to the point where I'm already looking forward to moving out and I'm not even finished moving in yet. Potential renter: You can do better than Washington Plaza; don't let the 1st floor fool you. "shecrossedtheline": I hope you're doing better now. Know not much has changed here since you were locked out.
