My experience was Sterlington has been a nightmare. The first night that I moved in, I remember being stuck in the apartment because the front door was jammed. I had to call the management for someone to come up to my place and open the door for me.

That same night, while I was unpacking and cleaning up the place, I enountered literally 50 cockroaches in the apartment. It was on a Friday when I moved in and I spent the whole night killing these roaches. They kept on appearing from the kitchen. Disgusted and appalled, I called Sterlington's emergency line and a man told me that he could not get in contact w/ Sterlington until Monday. Then, he told me that if I could, I should try getting out of the lease. This man obviously worked for Sterlington but was advising me to get the heck out of there!!!! That really tells you something about the management's reputation and credibility. Obviously, I couldn't stay up all night killing roaches so I had to call a friend to pick me up and I stayed at her place the whole weekend.

I came back to my apartment the following Monday, and by that point, Sterlington had gotten my message and had brought in an exterminator (I would like to note, the only reason that they brought an exterminator in that quickly was because I threatened them by saying that all my stuff was in there and by leaving numerous messages). When I walked in, there were dead cockroaches everywhere. Being really sensitive to insects and pests, I decided to move out the following week. By fumigating my place, it did not mean that it was pest free. Talking to someone, they told me that it was the whole apartment building in general that was the problem and by fumigating my place, it was just diverting the roaches to another apartment in the same building and there was no telling when they would return back to mine. I was only there for a night but what a nightmare. I even saw a few roaches roaming around in the Sterlington main office. The whole place is infested.

To make the situation worse, the sterlington staff were not sympathetic at all to this situation. I wasn't even expecting an apology for the inconvenience that I had suffered but they were straight up rude. "You stayed at a friend's place the whole weekend' They're only cockroaches," is what one lady said when I told her that I wanted to get out of my lease. Yeah lady. Why don't you stay there for the night w/ two bottles of Raid in your hands, killing these cockroaches and then let's see if you have the audicity to tell me that this is a frivolous complaint.

Sterlington is not responsive to their tenants' needs and honestly, you can find a much better place w/ the same price w/o any pests!!!

What floor is this on? Unit number? This building is owner by "Sterling Land" not "Sterlington"...Are you sure you have the right building? I called the health department and there were no complaints as far back as Jan.2007. This whole review sounds fishy to me.
