I'll tell you right now, if you ever see the name McQuarters Realty run away as fast as you can! When we first showed up for our appointment to look at the apartment, Debbie did not show up,I had to call the realty office for her to remind her. At this appointment we were told the security deposit would be one months rent, the location of the apartment is great so we decided to sign the lease well when it came time to move in, we were informed the security deposit is actually one months rent PER PERSON!! And of course on top of that you have to pay the first months rent so it ended up being $1260 each for my roomate and I. Parking is tight so each apartment is allowed one parking space which will cost you an additional $25 per month. The spaces are assigned but it doesn't do any good because visitors are always parked in tennant spaces and when we called the towing company they never showed up. Also the driveway right off of Fifth is not lit so it's next to impossible to find at night, if you invite anyone over be prepared to stand on Fifth and flag them down! We lived in an apartment on the top (3rd) floor so the apartment was freezing in the winter and there is no thermostat so you can't even adjust the temp. Also there is no elevator so it is a pain to move in, move out and don't even think about doing a big grocery trip! At one point while we were living there the ceiling started to leak in the master bedroom, it took several weeks for the leak to be stopped so we lived with a large double bed in the living room for several weeks. We also came back from a long weekend to find the kitchen completly infested with ants-and I always keep my kitchen spotless. Because it was a holiday the office was not open so I left a message for them to call us back, it took 3 or 4 days before they even bothered to return my call and another 2 weeks before they got someone out there to spray. When it finally came time to move out, McQuarters sent a list of everything that needed to be done before our inspection, it was by far the most ridiculas thing I have ever seen! Especially since the place was filthy when we moved in. My fiance and I spent an entire week cleaning every inch of that apartment (let's face it, $845 each is alot of money to loose for not cleaning your mini blinds!)and actually managed to receive our entire deposit back, minus the $100 for carpet cleaning which is a joke cause the carpet was stained and nasty when we moved in! The only bright spot in the miserable year we spent with McQuarters was Jeff who is in charge of maintainance, he was wonderful as was the rest of his maintainance staff! Hopefully this will help someone to avoid the pain and misery of dealing with McQuarters and living in an apartment where something is always broken, I wish I had read one before I moved in!

I just looked at a McQuarters 2br 2bath apt. on Fifth (Westminster Apartments?).

Is this the building to which you were referring? I would certainly like to know if it is the same.

Thanks.
