After waiting 2 months, and after repeated phone calls about my security deposit refund, I was then informed I would not be getting it back due to the condition of the apartment. I had been given the run-around for over a month.

First, the apartment was spotless. Any charges were going to be extremely minmal.

Second, why couldn't they tell me about this the first 4 times I called' Why did it all-of-the sudden come up after 2 months' Seems awfully fishy to me.

Just a follow up. I was told at 2 PM yesterday that a maintenence guy was sent to my old apartment to inspect the stove and refrigerator, and they were still dirty.

I arrived at the apartment complex at 4:30 to confront them on this problem. I asked them to get the keys to go see this "dirty" apartment. They wouldn't do it. I repeated my proposition several times, and each time they avoided it.

Why? Because someone had already MOVED IN to my old unit. They never went and inspected the apartment yesterday afternoon. They simply LIED and hoped I would just go away. Just like they LIED when they claimed I left a dirty apartment.

Please take your matter to the Better Business Bureau; they will bring the matter to closure; also use the power of the internet to dissuade people from renting at Voodoock

PA laws says they have 30 days from key turn-in to give your deposit minus any cleaning or repair fees back to you. And they must give you a notice in writing of the exact cost of each deduction before they send the check, so you will be aware of it and be allowed to rectify any problems.

DO A WALK-THRU WHEN RETURNING THE KEYS.

You do have recourse. Make a claim via the landlord-tenant act, at your local magistrate's office. If they get caught once and are made to pay, they won't do it again.
