My experience with this place was a nightmare from day one. The place was not ready to move into when I rented the apt. But due to time constraints with my new employer in Pittsburgh, I had no choice but to accept the apt. as is. I did fill out a move in check list and noted all the problems I saw at move in, all of which they tried to charge me for at move out. First, the lack of available parking even within 2-3 city blocks of my building was an issue. There was poor lighting of the parking area. Huge holes and cracks in the parking area, at one point, they painted a line down the middle of the parking lot/driveway through a 3 and a half inch deep hole. Next the lack of internal building maintenance - the hallways were filthy and in need of painting. The trash compactor was always breaking down leaving heaps of trash outside the building going up the main driveway. No hot water in the winter months due to the furnace using the hot water tank for a heating source. They have a monopoly on cable, and used to have one on highspeed internet service. Both services were poor and spotty at best. They also constantly billed incorrectly and double billed. The amount of rent charged to the tenants of The Woodhawk Club is silimar to other upscale communities within the Pittsburgh area. However, the upkeep of this community falls sadly short of the service and maintenance that such rates would imply. I have brought these deficiencies the the attention of builiding maintenance and office staff on numerous occasions to no end. My main desire to purchase a home was a direct result this.
