i was happy until this happens

I was quite happy with this place until the plumbing exploded behind the laundry machines one evening, no fault on my part. probably very old plumbing system. it flooded the living room. so maintenance came and fixed it quite promptly. they used huge vacuum machine and later on left 3 industrial fans in full operation for 3 days and 3 nights. At this time, i travelled a lot and barely stayed there and there is not electricity equipment in the apartment except for a small TV which was watched for less than 10 days for the 5 months. and I have not cooked even until today. Anyway, the electricity jumped up that month. so i informed the management. Later on, i presented all my 5 months of bills since i moved in just to let them know that there was a huge jump that month. I do not think that it is right to ask the renter to pay for things like this. I understand that it is hard to estimate electricity consumption normally. but they should have some idea about the usage. they are very rude in assuming that it would be no more than $2 or $3 dollars. and they asked me to talk to the electricity company, which was very absurd. They have very poor managerial skills to solve problems like this. They somehow feel that the renter should pay for it, even though it was $50 just because their assumption is: it should not be more than $2 - $3. On top of that, they made the comparison of home ownership and apartment renting. What if there was your house, i was asked, should you pay for the electricity' Give me a break! Do I own Place One after I live here for a year' Didn't I pay rent' Didn't you promise me a livable condition' I had to go away for the weekend because of the 3 big fans in my living room. They didnot apologize for the inconvenience and they expected the renter to pay for the cost. What a logic!!! I was thinking of staying longer. But now i am moving as soon as my lease is up.

To be fair, concierge and leasing people are very nice. maintenance too. But once you are a renter and managed by the two women there, you are doomed.
