I lived at Old Boalsburg Road Apartments. What I really liked about living there were the cool wood floors and older style doors and construction. It was also nice that my apt. was two stories. I also liked the newer windows that were easy to clean and let a lot of light in. My apt. also had sufficient closet space too. However,the rooms themselves are VERY tiny and claustrophobic (especially that ridiculously small kitchen that you had to walk sideways to get out the back door). As a young professional, I didn't care too much how the neighbors on both sides of my apt. who partied until 5am, blaring their music with my bed shaking to the beats, and their wrestling matches on the wood floors. (I lost many nights of sleep to that). I've also seen several fireworks go off in the parking lot too on several occasions. Also, my heating bill was almost always over $150 dollars during the winter months. I was almost NEVER home and in January I froze to death in 30 degree temps to lower my bill and it still was over $100!! And forget about any landscaping, it's pretty much non-existent. (Trash, beer bottles seem to be the only existing thing) The staff at the Apartment Store was very accomodating to me and were very pleasant whenever I went in and always took care of anything right away. (So are the maintenence men who happen though, to just walk in at any given time unannounced. Godforbid I could be taking a shower or something!). They never called to warn me that they would be doing repairs/showings EVER. I thought parking was pretty expensive per semester providing how far away from downtown we actually were.
Overall, I would say the Apartment Store is really not that bad. I enjoyed their good service, and good values, but I just wished I had looked around at other properties little more prior to moving there.
