Beaver Ave. Townhouses

I lived here for two years. The apartment has potential, 3 bedrooms (although small) for $340/month rent. Parking spaces were ridiculously small, you can see they shrunk them to fit one more car in (and at $60/month, pretty expensive).

Where do I begin' When we moved in the people prior did absolutely no cleaning. The apartment store (AS) sent their "cleaning professionals" who did not care and did a poor poor job to say the least. I'm glad they got the apartment "ready" for us in advance. So after spending a good 6 hours cleaning the place myself, we called to get the ruined carpet cleaned. Once again the "professionals" did not wait for the water to even heat up and declared the carpet ruined. AS wanted to replace the carpet, but we had our stuff moved in already and told them to do it once we left. Well two years later, they didn't budget for it and I have to pay $150 to clean carpet that is dire need of replacement.

They were hit and miss with maintaining the place. Had to ask them to fix the toilet (it would run) 4 times before they finally replaced in inside of it (like I asked). The funny thing was, I'm trying to save them money on their water bill and it was still a 'pain' for them to spend the 15 bucks for some parts.

The office staff made mistakes with our checks and screwed stuff up on that end. Make sure you keep receipts.

Needless to say I'm sure they are like any of the other greedy apartment places in town. It's a shame because we really did take care of the place. I'm sure we won't get any of our security deposit back despite it looking better than it did when we came in. I took video and photos of the place on move in day though so I'll be more than happy to sue them if they try. :) (I recommend everyone do the same).

All in all, for State College, it's an average apartment, but that is not saying much if you go outside of a college town. Thank you State College townies for your professionalism dealing with the people who pay you way too much for the little service you actually do. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7
