The apartment was fine but the agency sucked

I loved my studio apartment that I had above Rapid Transit but I HATED Associated Realty and would never rent from them again. Whenever there was a maintenance problem (like the heat not really working for most of the winter or the lack of hot water for 2 weeks) it took a hundred phone calls and days/weeks to fix. On top of that the agency allows maintenance to enter apartments without any real notice. I lived alone (hello young college girl) and woke up one morning to some creepy maintenance man entering my apartment. In the summer it was even worse because they assumed no one lived there and determined mid afternoon that the next morning they were going to come at 8am and paint my apartment. There is no need to paint apartments with tenants still in them when they already have a 2 1/2 week turnaround period after leases end. Lastly, no matter what you do to clean the place they will take a large portion of your security deposit. When I left my apartment was cleaner than when I moved in (and I have the pictures to prove it) and they still charged me a ridiculous amount for cleaning. In the end the service was terrible and they treat tenants like crap since most of them are students. Look somewhere else for an apartment.

I feel your pain! I had the EXACT same experience, especially wiht the female college girl living alone creepy guy. God, I just wish somebody had warned me. Funny thing was, the last time I asked them to come in for something, they asked me not to complain on "any of those websites," haha.
