Dear potential renters:

When you pull into the Briarwood parking lot to inquire about renting, turn tail and RUN the other way! They are pitiful. The apartments were built in the 70's, and very little of the hard-earned money you give them for rent is ever reinvested back into the units. Our dishwasher sounded like it was going to die and NEVER got our dishes clean, our garbage disposal sounded like a plane taking off, our blinds were literally torn to pieces when we moved in, and there were so many layers of cheap self-stick tile in the foyer/breakfast nook, we couldn't open or close our DENTED metal bifold closet door.

That was the least of our worries....we had squirrels living in the attic above our townhouse, and when one got INTO the apartment late one night, and I called the maintanence man for help, he asked me if I could WAIT until the next morning for someone to remove the wild animal (that could have had possible rabies) from my apartment. You know...because he had to get up early to shovel snow, and his manager had lately been giving him trouble about coming out to apartments on call for non-emergencies. WHAT in the WORLD qualifies as an emergency at Briarwood!!!'''' NOTHING. And even after the squirrel was removed from my apartment (which I had to call a police officer for, by the way) they still could not seem to effectively trap and remove the animals from our attic, so the squirrels continued to claw and gnaw at our drywall ceilings...until there were huge holes, and I was constantly paranoid that I would have another break in! And through it all, we were treated as big problems...as though we didn't pay hundreds of dollars a month to live in a place that was AT LEAST zoo free.

And the person who wrote in before was absolutely correct...you will NEVER get the kitchen cleaned, because although they tell you that they hired an "all star" cleaning team to come and clean your apartment before you moved in, you will NEVER get the grime out from between the appliances, and you will never get the stove clean, because they are simply too cheap to simply buy new drip pans for the burners.

If you DO rent from Briarwood, just don't say you weren't warned. If you manage to get any maintanence and repairs done on your apartment, you will literally have to claw your way to the top and complain to as many people as you can before something is done. And even then it will be a half-ass job. Briarwood only makes minimal repairs to get by. Actually, I think the men they hire as maintanence are simply too stupid to make any meaningful repairs.
