overpriced, dirty, falling apart ghetto apartments

I lived there for one year, but after one week of being there i realized what a mistake I made. The model they show you is absolutely beautiful...take that, add years of college living with no cleaning and no repairs, and thats what you actually get. They are poorly built units with no insulation (youll end up paying $180 a month for gas), and our place was actually twice as clean when we moved out then when we moved in...their "computer lab" is one ten year old computer and a xerox machine, in a room that is literally NEVER unlocked, their "hottub" is a dirty, falling apart cespool of bacteria that is never cleaned, and their pool is closed or "under repairs" 11 months out of the year. oh and the "panic buttons" can go off for hours on end without anything happening, and most times the staff eventually shows up and shuts it off...the cops dont bother anymore.
the staff was friendly enough when you went and talked with them, but the management was horrible. I filed a request for maintenence for fixing the cable jack in my room 10 times, eventually giving up and leading a cable all the way across our apartment and under my door to have internet access for my computer. Our rugs were completely disgusting, and not only that but the people who had lived there before us had actually contacted us, telling us to complain if they didnt replace the carpets because they said they kept most of their security deposits, saying they replace the carpet.
oh yeah, and they will make up -------- damage claims in order to pocket your deposit.
I would NEVER recommend university commons to ANYONE...if youre going to live that far off campus, go with a townhouse or the trailor park down the street from UC...youd be better off either way
