I am living at Lion's Gate during graduate school and move out at the end of the month. Overall, I am rather happy with my apartment. I have a one bedroom that is next to laundry, which is nice. The office staff is usually friendly and helpful and anything that I have needed fixed has been done correctly within the day. The parking spaces are rather narrow so an SUV may have some trouble but I drive a Ford Focus, so not a big deal. The quality of the apartment does leave a little to be desired because there is little storage space and the kitchen is really small, but it is a one bedroom apartment. I have also had some problem with spiders, but that is something that has to be delt with in the basement. The worst part about the complex is the people that live there. The person that lives above me is always wearing shoes and stomping everywhere she goes on the hardwood floors. I have also learned everything about her relationship with her now ex-boyfriend (I assume because I don't hear him yelling anymore), including frequency of sex. Additionally, people leave junk mail in the foyer, dryer lint all over the laundry room, and even bags of garbage by the front door. Also, if you don't like dogs this may not be the best because they are everywhere and some bark often. I wish that they would make a no dog building. Don't get me wrong, I do like dogs, I just can't stand them barking all of the time. The windows should be insulated (current ones are single pane) but plastic can be installed. Heat is included, so it is really their loss. Just some advice, if you decide to move here, rent on the third floor, it may be quieter since there will be no stomping above you.
