Decent, quiet, simple layout

Years at this apartment: 1998 - 2002
I rented one the 1 bedroom units. It had a large living room, galley kitchen, small bathroom, and medium sized bedroom. It lacks character but is suitable for 1 person. The apartment spans the width of the building so it was nice in the summer to open both windows and get a breeze through the place.
This is one of the few places in town that will allow pets, but for a fee. Be carefull, though, I heard rumors that the management where overcharging and pocketing the extra money. I believe the culprits who were doing this were caught and fired, though. Other than that the staff was friendly and the maintenance was adequate.
Also, everyone got a new door and windows while I was there.
In the building I lived in, there generally was very little conversation with the neighbors. Most people were pretty reclusive or rarely home, so it was almost always quiet. The neighborhood isn't too bad. You'll see the occasional cop slowly driving through the maze of parking lots. There was one instance where some punk kids were trying to steal cars that were not locked up by the owners.
The parking situation was pretty good. I always found a space and when I had friends over, they didn't get towed or ticketed.
As far as construction goes, I think they were built in the 60s, but seem decently built. Some of the appliances are pretty old and the cabinetry needed to be replaced in my unit.
