FLOODS, CEILINGS CAVING IN, BROKEN WINDOWS, MAINTENANCE IN AND OUT AS THEY PLEASE

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. Within the last few months our living room has flooded due to an intentionally broken pipe outside by the maintenance workers. Our bathroom ceiling has literally caved in twice and began dripping severely a third time. The pipes "contract" according the the staff. The "contracting" sounds like someone hitting the pipes with a hammer at various speeds. It'll slow down and speed up ALL DAY and NIGHT. Try getting a good night sleep with that. The maintenance workers are in and out of the apartment constantly fixing or checking things whenever they please. We have had significant damage to linens, furniture, and other belongings due to the constant water damage and mold from the water damage. They refused to have someone come in a vacuum up the water or to compensate us for all of the damage. The windows do not seal. Literally there is a one inch gap in every window where it won't close. Maintenance has been called several times, but they say that we need to just cover the gap on our own. Window panes have fallen in. Screens have fallen out (they told me I had to fix it myself). You can hear people walking and talking through the floors and walls. Laundry machines constantly steal quarters. During the winter, the parking lot is never maintained. Inches of snow will be left on the sidewalks and driveway even after the snow has stopped. Expect to get stuck in the parking lot. And expect to get plowed in if they do plow.

DON'T RENT HERE. I've lived in several apartments in the State College area, and none were this deplorable. You'd get a better apartment by opening up the phone book to apartments and pointing to any other one at random.

If you do decide to rent here, let me say this now: "I told you so".

I second the fact about the banging pipes. It's so pathetic that they won't spend the money to fix the problem. It is very frustrating to say the least. My neighbor upstairs walks back and forth constantly and I can hear every step he takes. It sounds like the floor could cave in at any moment.
